should I get triple seven pellets
I know the choice is mine in the end but I am going to poll yall to see what you do.
I drop by walmart everyday, checking prices. They have a 24 pack of triple seven pellets. I keep thinking "I could take them to the range and try them out until the loose comes down more". But I know that pyrodex pellet don't burn completely in my USAK. but they only have 2 packs left the last time I checked they are $9 for 24. once all the pellet are fired the tubes makes good shot tubes. What do yall think. |

Go buy a pound of Pryodex R-S or Goex FFF....Forget pellets...
Pyrodex runs about $16.00, I'm able to buy Goex for $11.50... |

Pellets are not a thrifty way to go!
Not sure what loose is there, but the price of the pellets on sale converts to $52.50/lb. 24 pellets @ 50 grains ea. = 1200 grains 1200 grains @ $9. = .0075/grain 7000 grains in a pound = $52.50/pound And I believe T-7 pellets are even lighter than 50 grains. Aren't they like 37.5 grains (50 grain equiv.)? That would mean they are even more expensive! |

What do yall think. Remember though 100g of pellets are not going to be the same as 100g of loose powder. I play around at the range with 777 FFg. Its taken a while, but I know my Optima will group about the same using 100g of 777 pellets as 90g of loose powder. |

I think all the reasons yall stated is why I keep putting them back. right now I use pyrodex p, I can get it for $14.99, I got about 90+ loads out of it (an endless bottle lol). the place I get if from has one pound left, I am going to get it monday during my break during hunting. I am still waiting for wally worlds second drop, I may have to pick up some pyrodex rs before then, they are selling fast at $13. I think the same place I get pyrodex p from has rs for the same or a few bucks more.

Corey as I remember, you have a Knight USA which does not shoot 209 primers. For that reason alone, any purchase of pellets would be a waste of money, and very frustrating on the range with the lack of consistency you would encounter. Even if you shoot musket caps, while they will ignite pellets, it is still not recommended in most cases. Stick with the loose powder, save lots of money, and enjoy your rifle for what it is...

I think that is another reason I keep putting them back lol, I found so far about 80% to 95% of the bullets I have put thru it groups for me. I am not wanting to mass with anything. I am kinda not wanting put a new scope on it next year, but I may not have a choose, my 10+ year old tasco, the top turret wants to come out.
