Grandular or Pellets

As I have said here befor,I have not experince with inlines..

As far as powders go,what do most of you guys or gals
find to be the best as far as keeping a more consistent
muzzle velocity and accuracy..I see 777 mentioned
several times as well as Pyrodex...Is the pellet form
better than the crandual or viseaversa?

I know, probably the pellets are easier to handle or to
load. What about ignintion or lock time?

I have several pounds of Goex 2F on hand as stated
befor to use in my rifles which also include 2 cartridge
rifles..Am just courious what you guys think as far as
the performance from either type and or brand of
manufactor. Sorry to sound like a pain in the a$$,but
like to check out all points good and bad....

RE: Grandular or Pellets

Well if you have numerous pounds of Goex 2f loose, then by all means use that. Goex will work just fine in your inline rifle as well as your traditional guns. I shoot black powder all the time in my fast twist rifles with excellent results I might add. If you want powder, I like the loose powder over the pellets. I shoot on average over 30+ pounds of powder a year. So my concern is a matter of finance as well as reliability.

As for the substitute powders, which is better.. your rifle will tell you that answer. Some rifles like one over the other and produce the results you want. All you can do is try them. Good luck.

We must shoot about the same,,Last year I went through 32 lbs of Goex.
I get it in Virgina when I go down to my sisters..I stop in at the re inactment
and they have dealers right there..Last I got was 25 lbs at 8.45/lb....

I love the loading and shooting, casting and pan lubing and all..But I hate the
case prep and cleaning..Very time consuming...I gave up sizing a long time
ago and shoot what comes from the mold usually...

I'd stay with the Goex, too. You can work up the best load even in the inline. I shoot 70 grains of 3F with a REAL 250 slug for deer under 100 yards in my Knight and they don't run very far.
