traditions or cva
Has anyone had any experience with the cva bobcat rifle or the traditions caplock that they sell at k-mart? Not sure if the traditions has a name but it has a wooden stock and costs about 120 bucks.

The cheapie CVA's I've had experience with weren't worth carrying home. I've heard they have "improved" their quality, but can't swear this is true.

I've heard good from both. But if I was paid to write an article on them I'd say they were great too.

A friend of mine bought one of the traditions guns you are talking about a couple of yrs ago and I helped him get going with it. I shot it on several occasions and was very well pleased with it. Its not pretty, but it functioned flawlessly and was surprisingly accurate out to about 75 yards. At 100 yards, after we figured out it liked 495 balls with .018 pillow ticking, it would shoot about 80% of the shots into a group of around six inches. That with the crude factory sight too. The occasional flier opened up the groups to around ten or twelve inches. For the money, I think that is alot of bang for your buck. In my opinion though, the Lyman GPR is more than twice the rifle for just twice the money. Ive shot several of the lyman rifles that were completely faithful at 100 yards. Thats something most of the factory roundball guns wont do.

Both are good rifles, but I have a preference for the traditions. I have a Traditions Hawkins and it shoots great...

i bought the bottom line in-line cva from bass pro. it will shoot 2-3 inch groups at 100 yds as long as you wipe it out good after 2 shots.

I have the CVA Stag Horn .50 cal mag and I like it just fine. But I have also heard pretty good things about the Traditions. Good luck.
