I've spent an hour or so searching sites for BP and subs. Interestingly, the only site selling both black powder and a substitute was Powder Inc. The sites broke down like this:

Midway - all subs

Grafs - all black powders

Powder Inc. - black powders and Goex Pinnacle (sub)

Maine Powder House - all black powder

Natchez - all subs

All charge a single hazmat per order, usually $20 per order or have it included in the price with a minimum order (Powder Inc 5 lbs.) or (Maine Powder House 25 lbs.).

Bottom line - for Black Powder, looks like a 6 lb. order of Goex and Swiss from Graf's and for subs, a 6 lb order of Pyrodex and 777 from Natchez assuming (3 lbs. of each powder), comes out around $20 a lb. all in.

You could get that down to $15 for BP from Maine Powder House @ 25 lbs Swiss and Goex but I'm not sure I'll live long enough to use all that!

Those Walmart sales are lookin' good..........

It looks like about the same thing I discovered in my powder buying experiences.. And you're right, when Wal Mart sells, I buy all I can get my hands on...
