New Triumph

Just got my first BP. I wanted the Enore but could not justify the extra $400.
Maybe next year.
BP is more fun than i thought.
Mounted a Nikon Omega on a removable weaver mount.
ShotOK groups once i got it on the paper. Using a tripod standing up, so better groups to come.
777 100gr 250g TC sabots (yellow) not superglides. Rem 209 BP primers

First impressions.
Very well made Gun. easy to clean Very easy to clean with the thumb turn Breech plug .
That is a great Idea , easily removed in the field if needed. you can also unload the gun this way.
Well balance it holds real nice.
Stock seems a little short for me ,I am only 5'7"
I will TC would have include T handle with the gun

I am having a good time shoting it. I ususally shoot my semi auto Shot gun and just blast away at clays. The Triumph or any other blackpowder gun allows you to slow down and think about what you are doing.
Very enjoyable first experience.

Any recomendations on Loads and Bullets for the triumph

Your shooting exactly what I would try first. Then I might try kicking the powder charge up to 110-120 grains of loose T-7 2f and see what happens. Other then that keep the reports coming. It looks like you have a great rifle there. Don't forget to swab between shots..

Right now i wet swab the dry patch after every shot.
Does not take long ( no bears charginging me at the range) I think it makes clean up a whole lot easier at the end of the day.

Loose powder in the triumph is OK ?
Please explain the process.
Please remembera am a newbie.
I do prefer the ease of the pellets

There are volumemeasures on the market for measureing loose powder which was all you could do till the pellets came on the market.
Loose powder cost less per shot.
You can also load only 75 grains if you want or even 105, 110 and115. Pellets are only simpler if you only want 50, 80, 100, 120, 130 and 150 grain loads.
