Youth load forT/C Black Diamond?

What is a good hunting load for my son. 100gr was too much.He uses a 50cal, 209 primer, and 777powder.

You didn't say what bullet he's using, but 90 grains T-7 and a 250 grain Speer Gold Dot in Harvester Crush Rib sabotsgives me a little over 1700fps from my gun. A fine 150 yard load and not a lot of recoil.

Or, switch to 90 grains Pyrodex for an even softer shooting load at around 1500 fps.

As soon as cayugad picks this up he'll give you a good idea of what to use he shoots a BD... but, for my part I would suggest 70 grains of T7-2f - that would be a good load out to 75 yards. I shoot 70 grain loads a base point and I hardly even notice - but that is just me + I am not recoil conscious...

My son is 10 and shoots a CVA Wolf. He shoots 80grains of T-7 and a Nosler .451 HP and a MMP 24 Sabot. He doesn't complain about recoil at all.

80 grains of Pyrodex RS and a 240 grain T/C Mag Express XTP should get the job done with little recoil. I have shot that load in my BD and it does real well. Give it a try and see how they like that.

Cayugad is 100% right.......80-90 gr T7 with a 240 gr XTP......= GREAT LOAD

My kids shoot a cut down T/C Black Diamond. For the past two years, we used 75 grains of 777 under a 300 grain XTP. This year I had a large box of 240 grain XTPs I picked up on sale after last season and that is what they use. They have killed two or three a year with this combo, including two so far this year. An excellent combo. My kids are 9 and 11 and shoot it well. My general rule is only broadside shots to the heart/lung. Of the 7 or 8 deer they have killed with this combo, only one bullet has been recovered. Went in just behind the shoulder and ended up under the skin next to her udders. A perfect mushroom. Matt, my eldest, shot the doe during youth week a couple of weeks ago and I haven't weighed the bullet yet, but I am guessing around 85 to 95% mass retention.
As long as you don't drive them too fast, these are great bullets.
