Which bullet, sabots, grains of powder,, work best for you

ive got some hornady 240 grn xtp,,300grn xtp and 60 rnds
of T/C 250grn shockwaves,, black sabots not superglides
ive started using 777 ffg instead of pellets
I just want to see which load combo works best for your

RE: Encore loads???

Start with 110g of the 777 and you should find the shockwaves come in between there and 120g of powder. I am not sure I would use the 240gxtp over the 300g ones. The 300g I would start off at 120g and probably stay there.

This year I dialed in mine with the 200g shockwaves and 115g 777.

Encores like to be loaded hot... try 3 777 pellets and a 250 bonded shockwave, I bet this will shoot moa out of your rifle. My load in my Pro-Hunter is three Jim Shockey's Gold Sticks and a 300 grain Nosler, while maybe not as accurate as the above mentioned load it's alot cleaner and alot easier do deal with... and plenty accurate enough!;)

I had really good luck with a 300 grain XTP with 100 grain of Pyrodex RS and Klean bore primers .

I am having trouble with my Encore at the moment, not locking in all the way and loose hinge pins so my groups went to Hell . But i hope to get that corrected and be back at it .

i use the 250 grain SST in the tight fittingsabot along with 90-120 grains of JSG. Killed a lot of deer and hogs with those loads.

Same here. I am using100g pyrodex (2 pellets) with a 250g Barnes TMZ, and I am putting bullets through holes at50 yards.

Just shot 2 deer with these bullets. Both were facing 3/4 away from me. Shot in the centerof the lungs. Both drooped right in their tracks. Not even one step.

RE: Encore loads???

i did shoot some hornady 240gr xtp mags the other day
with 85grs at 50 yards, all five shots were touching
but opened up 4 ta 5 inches at 100 yards,
T/C shockwaves also shot well at 50 yards with 110grns 777 ffg
did'nt have time to try at 100 yards, but i will soon if it stops snowing

I tried the 777 pellets and got great results using Barnes 245gr spitfire's, however the crud ring from the 777 was horrible so I did alot of testing with Jim shockeys gold in stick and loose form and for my gun I can use 100gr. of loose or two sticks of the Jim Shockeys gold and get awesome results without the crud ring and ease of cleaning. I was amazed at how switching between the sticks and loose really didn't seem to affect my accuracy.

RE: Encore loads???

I tried several loads and inthe end I finally settled on the 3x50 Pyrodex pellets, 250 grain T/C Shockwave bonded bullet (with black sabot) and the VariFlame primer system using federal small rifle primers. Gun was shooting < 1 1/4 inch at 100 yards. Second best load was using Barnes 250 grain TMZand it was shooting < 1 1/2 inch at 100 yards. The gun just likes the max loads.
