My iron-sighted side hammer goes out tomorrow for for opening of regular rifle season. That's dern near sacriledge around here (meaning my part of the world), but oh well.

IMO, muzzleloaders are superior to slug guns. I cannot deal with the recoil and the horrible, heavy trigger on a shotgun (which was meant to be slapped, not squeezed, anyhow). A magnum capable muzzleloader with a 3-50grain pellet load or a Savage will kick the collective butts of 99% of the slug guns out there.

My inlines are all I use when hunting. I have two centerfire rifles that haven'teven been firedfor several years.

Meh i love the way my benelli nova with rifled slug barrel shoots. I have taken my muzzy out during gun season but not very often. I would however love to take a deer with my 7mm rem mag but maryland for the most part is slug gun only.
