Buck was taken in the Ravenden Springs area.
CVA Hunter Mag 250 grn hollow point with a Tasco Bantam scope.
Well it was an interesting day I must say. I had two five gal buckets full of pastries to bait up a bear spot. So I loaded them and the corn on the four wheeler.
Went to the first corn barrel, got it filled back up and back on the tree and dumped the buckets.
Cow crap all over the place. Came back within sight of my truck, and thought someone had took my truck and replaced it with a feeding trough.
Had one donkey, three horses, and a few huge cows eating outta my truck bed.
Two bales of hay busted open and three bags of corn ripped open. Hay and corn all in my bed. Cleaned all that up and drove to second and third barrel . They too were off the tree. Got them fixed and filled. By now it's getting later than I usually like getting in the stand. Figured I would get the fourth corn barrel going and go ahead and get in the tree and enjoy the rest of the evening.
Bout 5 pm and I'm finally hunting.
5:45 along comes a doe. Skiddish at first but finally gets comfortable and goes to town on the corn. Then along comes this dark colored deer coming from a different direction than doe did. As he comes closer I realize this is a shooter. I figured since the doe was between me and him that I'm gonna be OK. But I wasn't taking no chances. Still 30 yrds shy of the doe I let him have it 75 yrds from me.
But wait, it just goes "click click".
Oh crap I just pulled the bolt back far enough to get the primer in back when I loaded the primer. But after pulling the gun back to me I am able tocock the bolt without the buck bolting. This time he fell in his tracks.

Great story. Sounds like that 250 Hollow Point did all you needed it to do. Again, congratulations.
