Thanks for the tips guy's. It will, no doubt be raining some of the time. It usually does.

I'm looking forward to doing it the old way. My load is .495 bal, .010 dry lubed patch, 90 gr 3f Goex and by the sound of things, 3f for prime.

Come on November!!! I can't wait to see the looks I get hauling a deer out carrying a flintlock.:D

Oh, one last question. I like to use those pop up blinds for deer.
Will I burn it down when I touch one off with the flintlock?[:@]:([:o]

It is something to keep in the back of your mind.. there will be a large burst of fire out the vent hole when you touch that thing off. I know a person hunting in one of those large round hay bales had to postpone his hunt a little after he shot his deer to put the hay stack out..

It probably will not start the thing on fire, but could cause material damage. Perhaps tape some tin foil onto the wall in the area you believe the flash will come into contact with. The tin foil will at least deflect the flash. There is also flash cups you can purchase to put on some rifles that direct the flash flame...

:D now thats funny. Would suck big time but think of things in a positive way. That burning hay bale will keep your backside warm while you gut the deer:D:D

These guys I know took a large hay bale and with a chain saw hollowed it out. Then covered the top with a tarp and then the hay back on top. They claimed that deer would actually walk up and eat off the bale or next to it when they were inside of it. Also it is dry and very warm in there. The one person though said it was never their intent to have a fire in their blind...
