BOONE AND CROCKET RETICLE
I bought a new Knight Long Range Hunter. I have been spending a lot of time at the bench with this rifle. I must say I am very pleased. I bought a Leupold 4.5X14 with the B&C reticle. I am shooting the 250 grain Barnes saboted bullet with 130 grains of loose 777. I have the crosshair hitting dead POI at 100 yards. The rifle normally cuts the X or stay's within 1/2 inch of the X. I am very happy with that. With the first crosshair down my rifle is shooting 1 inch high at 150 yards. With the second crosshair down it is shooting just under center at 200 yards. I am very happy with these results.
This duplicates the results I had with my Omega with 120 grains of 777, and a 250 grain TC bullet. I got rid of the Omega because it was just too hard to put a bullet down the barrel. I could barely get the first shot down the barrel. I have not concerned myself with group's while shooting this rifle. I have only been concerned with POI with a perfectly clean barrel. I am going to try the third crosshair down at 250 yards and see what happens. Regardless of what it does at 250 yards I have got her ready to deer hunt. This B&C reticle in the Leupold is the berries. Tom. ![]() |
RE: BOONE AND CROCKET RETICLE
It sounds like you have a really good shooter. I will be interesting to hear from you what it does at longer distances.
