my wife is going to kill me

I just ordered some sabots from mmp. my wife told me "if I buy anything else with out talking with her first she will kill me". OOPS, I could not help myself, they did not charge shipping, so it was cheaper then every where else I was looking.

by the way, has anyone tried BBSB Ballistic Bridge Sub-Base from them.

I was looking at what I had bullet/sabot, I have 240 gr xtp with mag express and 230gr with surefire sabots. I could tell a little defferince between the two. does anyone know who makes the bullet for t/c

My guess is it is probably Nosler. That bullet resembles the Nosler bullets I use in my .44. I buy the 250 Ct. Sportsman's pack. They are very simialr to the XTP.
Oh, about the wife, mine used to complain too but now after 33 years, she just shakes her head when a package arrives or if I tell her I'm going to Cabela's. Like yesterday, she tagged along with me to try and restrain me. I still ended up spending a couple hundred bucks. Well at least she was along to help me carry the stuff to the car.

The T/C "Mag-Express" bullets are repackaged Hornady XTP's. The other, I don't know.

my wife told me "if I buy anything else with out talking with her first she will kill me".

Corey,
I had those type of discussion with my wife, 25 years ago (Oct 23 will be 25th anniv), here is my logic,Iam just following the commands of scripture:

http://bibleresources.bible.com/keywordsearchresults.php?multiplemethod=all&nu mpageresults=25&select=searchBible&keyword =kill+and+eat&version=51&Submit.x=11&S ubmit.y=16

Acts 11:7 (Whole Chapter)
And I heard a voice say, ‘Get up, Peter; kill and eat them.’

so you need the bullets to kill and eat to support your family, and if you don't support your family this is what God says:
[ol][*]1 Timothy 5:8 (Whole Chapter)
But those who won’t care for their relatives, especially those in their own household, have denied the true faith. Such people are worse than unbelievers. [/ol]
The meat we support our families with is the healthies meat on planet earth, it has no chemicals or preservatives and is 1/2 the chlestrol of beef, so you are doing the right thing financially and health wise for your family.

Now it is biblical for a wife to run the finances, Proverbs 31 gives a whole chapter lots of example such as this:

Proverbs 31:16 (Whole Chapter)
She goes to inspect a field and buys it;with her earnings she plants a vineyard.

Areasonable allocation per week for gas and guy things wouldhelp, which is what I did.
That is my logic, hope if helps. Best Wishes.
Chap Gleason

RE: my wife is going to kill me

And as far as the Sub Bases go, they were developed mostly with the Savage 10ML-II with top end smokeless powder loads in mind, and a little less so with 150gr T7 and Pyrodex loads, to protect the sabot from heat damage and provide an extra gas check to stop gas blow-by which wrecks accuracy. So in the recent past (2-3 years ago), the BBSB's could significantly improve accuracy with hot loads. As a side note: I've just trimmed the obturator cup off 28 gauge AA shotgun wads to perform the same function, as it's much cheaper!

The plastic used in current production MMP sabots has gone through several improvements since the BBSB's were introduced, and current sabots really don't need the extra protection the BBSB's provide. In fact, since the BBSB is just one more component in the bore, it's one more thing that can can go wrong and make accuracy WORSE. Current production MMP sabots don't need them, so I wouldn't bother with them.

Good luck,

Mike

BTW: Haven't you ever heard of flowers or jewelery, man?!;) Something for her, something for you, all is well in the world![8D] When I married my wife, she told me she wanted kids, I told her I wanted a Harley. Now 7 years later, we have two kids and I can't afford the Harley, but I wouldn't trade my kids for all the Fatboys in Milwaukee. We don't always get what we want, especially where women are concerned, but some trade-offs aren't so bad!

I have used sub bases before my CVA optima pro loved them but my Knight LRH hates them --you'll have to try them and see.

I have a couple bags of sub bases. They only work good if you are pushing a lot of powder through the rifle. Also I tried them in two different rifles, a Knight and a Thompson Center, and they did not help. In fact some cases they hurt the accuracy.

Spending money on muzzleloaders and supplies is an easy thing to do.

Been there - done that -> my has killed me a 1000 times... I just continue to blame good people like cayugad and UC. But i might really be in trouble soon I keep having this driving itch for a KRB - I will not even look a posts on here about the KRB anyway I do not look much or for to long - but I have to look for someone that might be having a problem so I can say I do not need another gun. actually I do not need another gun but the KRB could be the last. Oh wel! you know what I mean.

Sabotloader.. that KRB sure is a nice looking rifle. Also they have guaranteed accuracy out of the box. I really like that design. What do you think of it. Have you found a site with the best prices?

That composite stock model would really look nice in the gun rack next to the other composte stock rifles.. I am sure your wife would be very understanding.
