What granulation of Swiss was he testing? I'll bet it wasn't the FFFg equivalent because he was still able to write the article. :)

Would like to read the article but don't get that magazine.

Exactly. With GOEX black powder the recoil of the 8.3 1 pound scoped rifle increased from 19.7 food pounds (100 grain) to 35.6 pounds (150 grain). This is an 80% increase in recoil for 192 fps increase in velocity. Would imagine the figures for the more powerful powders are much worse.

Hetested the FFG.

txhunter58, There are some intersting things about that, did you know that the barrel length and the weight of the bullet change where the point of effence is in a load. its interesting to play with a chorny because of that.
Also that while a heavy bullet will burn the powder more effectivly in a short barrel your flatest shooting load will be a lighter bullet, and the sectional density will control penatration along with the hardness and shape of the bullet,
thats why I like this 200gr 40 cal SW, with 110 gr of 777 I get over2200 FPS which gives a very nice trajectory and it has the same penatrating capability as the 300gr 45cal SW,is that not a nice combo. Lee
