Help with sighting in at 50 & 100 (sabotloader)

I have sabotloader's ballistic chart on the 300 speer gdhp with 100 grains of t7 ( attached)and today I learned that my omega loves this load too. I was dead on at 100 yards but I'm not sure how to interpret sabotloaders ballistics report. I can hardly see 100 yards in our woods so I'm really interestedin whereI would expect this to hit a 50 yard target. Of course I'll test this next time out but I expect rule #1 will be in full effect.

thanks, tom

More than likely 3 to 3 1/2"high. Thats what my winchester will shoot @ 50 yards with 100 grains t7 and a 300 grn XTP.

The chart says you will be 2.14inches high at 50 yards, now that is with an Austin Hallock not an Omega, you will get some differences there especially if thebarrel length is shorter. I find the Gold Dots shoot prettys similar to a Nosler or a HornadyXTP of the same weight. Chap Gleason

Chap is right but look closer at the chart... I am trying to achieve max trajectory so the actual dead zero is 139 yards... @ 100 yards the bullet is still up 2.4" on the target and @ 50 yards it is about 2.14" going up.

If you sight in @ 100 yards right on - then you can figure your 50 yard target will be about 1" to an 1 1/2 high, somewhere in there.

These numbers are also with a scope... if you are shooting open sights the numbers are a bit different.

These numbers are for the Gold Dot which has a higher BC than does the XTP so they are somewhat different than would be a XTP.

Ah heck! now you got my couriosity up so I went back and ran the numbers through the barnes calculator.

Zeroed @ 100
+.91" @ 75
+.92" @ 50
+.09" @ 25

These are all with a scope about 1.5" above the bore...

Thanks guys. I know that this is isn't a true comparison but I appreciate your speculation. In addition to the fact that he did this report with an austin hallock he also shoots at roughly 2,000 ft higher elevation. So I'd expect even more drop correct?
