Does anyone have experience with this rifle? Saw it at walmart for 148.00...

Rochelle.Buy it! I have one and have it topped off with a 4x scope.I use 90grs fff black powder with a 303gr Remington bull.Make sure it has all the tools with it.It took a while to brake it in thats the fun part the shooting and the cleaning the bore after each shot.I would start off with 60 grs of powder and cheeper bullets at 1st.Also make sure to use a good lube on the breech plug I use anti seize.Good luck


correct the powder from aaa to fff must have been thinking of a tow.

That is a great deal. That is $20 less than I paid for its baby brother the USAK almost 3 years ago - and my USAK has been a wonderful piece of equipment for me.

popumm is absolutely right with his recommendation:
Break the gun in with a few dozen patched round balls with 60 to 80gr of powder. And then go to sabots. One word of warning with sabots.......any bullet under 300gr is going to be just about worthless (accuracy wise) unless you're willing to drop your powder load to around 70gr. The 303gr Remington CoreLokts he mentioned or the 300gr Hornady XTP Mags both work great with around 100gr of powder. And the 350gr Precision Rifle QT & Dead Center Sabots and the 348gr PowerBelt aero-tipped bullets all give excellent results with 110 to 115gr of powder.

The Wolverine is as well built as any rifle Knight makes. It will shoot 100 yards easy. Spend your money on a good scope.

Buy it. That's over $100 below Cabela's price and cheaper than I can buy it as a wholesale distributor. You'll never find it cheaper.

I watched my hunting partner take out a crow over 100 yards away with his Wolverine and you've found a hell of a bargain.

I don't think you need to break it in. Green Mountaon barrels are pretty good right out of the box.

That is a steal for a price, like everyone said BUY IT!!!
I am Rob/Pa Bowyer's hunting partner. I took a crow out at 130yds with my wolverine. As to Mark Whiz's post about the bullet weight on getting good accuracy I believe this not to be true. I shoot a 240 grain Hornady XTP over a 100 grain powder charge, My gun will hold a inch and half 5 shot group at 100yds.I think every gun will like a little something different, you will just have to play around and find out what your rifle likes to shoot.

I just picked up today at Gander Mountain a Knight Wolverine II that came in a package deal with some goodies. They had it on sale, then took a additional 50% off the lowest sale price! So I ended up with it for $89.66 with tax!! Now, can I use powder pellets in this?? Also, would it be to any benefit to buy a conversion for this to upgrade it to 209 primer????? or not???? Any tips on this gun as far as if it is a decent gun? or tips as to what I should start out with for loads would be great! I started a thread about this also tonight, but then just seen this thread. Anyone know the diff. between the wolverine and what I have the wolverine II ?
