50cal Omega

I’m purchasing a T/C Omega 50cal from my bro-in-law. He’s getting into more traditional types of rifles. It’s a 50cal with a cabelas 2-7 scope. He is selling it withsabots, powder and accessories (tools)for $275. I’d assume this is a pretty good deal. Any one else own one and have any thoughts on this rifle.

Assuming the gun is in good condition - that is not a bad deal at all with scope..

Joe, That is a very good deal if the rifle is in good condition (no pits in the bore, no rust in the bore, etc). I own an Omega and they are excellent shooter. I shoot Nosler Partition 300g, 100g of 777 loose and a Federal Primer, with a Crushed rib sabot. If your brother in law has this dialed in, they use what he dialed it in for. Best Wishes on your new gun.

Thanks for the responses.

He takes really good care of his guns. He's very meticulous with his stuff. I think the rifle was in the woods once and has one confirm killwith the open sights. The scope he added a little while ago was bore sighted only. I guess he intended to use it more but decided to go moretraditional. It was at the range a couple times as well.

RE: 50cal Omega

I just bought one myself (Omega). I'm sure they are nice guns. I will only be hunting 100yrds or less, as I live in N.E. Indiana. There are not alot of wide open spaces except for a cut corn or bean field here and there. So I am sure I will have good success and accuracy. Especially at the ranges I will be hunting. I decided to just use my old T/C-Bushnell cheapy scope for now. I like the Nikons, but I'm not sure I will need one. I also went with the T/C see thru rings. Half my shots will probably only need open sights as I hunt from a stand in the woods. Good luck with your ML I am sure it will serve you well. Have fun and be safe!!
