Harvester Scorpion

Anyone ever killed a deer with one of these? I can get them down the GM barrel without a short starter, seem accurate at the 50, and can buy them off-the-shelf locally. Wonder if they hold together.

yeoman I have wondered the same thing. I have read about people shooting deer with them and the bullet works fine. I never have used them for hunting.

I also shot them in a couple of my rifles, and like you I also got good accuracy. My notes indicate I was shooting them with 100 grains of Goex 2f. The other notation is swab between shots, excellent loading, very good accuracy.

Cayugad - that's encouraging information, thanks. Do your records indicate you tried them at 100 yds? Recent discussions about easy loading rounds showing performance problems farther down range have me wondering. Nothing like a range test to find out.

No, they are marked 50 & 75 yards. The date indicatedJanuary, so I am guessing they were tested at a time when the 100 yard station is not open due to snow drifts.

If they were on at 75 I'd expect 100 to be pretty decent as well. I'll give them a try next time out. thanks.
