Dang! Well that about covers it... and basically what I have been doing with the lightly lubricated barrel that I am always talking about during hunting season in the woods.

Thanks for all the tips. I think I'll experiment with not lubing them and see how they load. If that proves difficult I'll go back to using a slight amount.

I like the Windex System. I found some Specimem Cups on E-bay today that look to be the perfect size......$6 for a dozen. I'm going to"borrow" that trick!

Good tips about Bore Plug's too. I must admit that I have a tough time removing bore plugs after shooting. I have a "T" wrench and my hand tight is a touch too much. I'm going to back off a bit and break the plug after a couple of shots from now on.

Doc White recommends the use of a lube on his PowerStar sabots (not very relevant since you can no longer find them) and claims~..."LUBRICATE THE CHANNELURES IN THE SABOT-IT KEEPS THE BARREL MUCH CLEANER, SLOWS DOWN PLASTIC ACCUMULATION IN THE BARREL AND LOSS OF ACCURACY, AND LOADS EVER SO MUCH EASIER."

Those were a special circumstance but I think if your load is very difficult to seat, a dab of lube wouldn't hurt a thing. Bore Butter used in such fashion would not harm your bore given the cleaning procedure outlined.
