I am wanting to try some barnes bullets in my Khanke. Which ones, in 50 cal., would be the best for whitetail. I am leaning towards the expanders.

You can't go wrong. Any of the 245-300gr bullets, Expanders, TMZs, and Spitfires will do good.

The spitfire and TMZ have a little better B.C., so they'd give a little better trajectory with longer range shooting. Any of them would work well at typical MZ ranges though. You really need to play with some and see what your rifle likes. A buddy of mine has an Omega that loves the 245 grspitfires and the 250 gr expanders but doesn't shoot the heavier bullets well at all. MyKnightseems to really like the 250 gr.expander with a 110 gr. charge of 777.

My CVA shoots the Knight Red Hot 250gr very well. The Red Hot is the same as the Barnes Expander MZ. I switched to the Crushed Rib sabots because they loaded easier and I got better groups. As soon as it cools off I got some of the 300gr to try.

Bottom line is get one that is accurate in your rifle and stick with it.

One of my best hunting partners is a Barnes shooter - he loves them and can not be influenced away fromthem, but he is from Californiaso I guess I can not expect to much, I am a Nosler shooter - we continually "discuss" the merits of each bullet - he is stubborn.... I am not I just know that Noslers are the best...

If you have never shot a deer with a Nosler Partition you will not know what I am talking about, but the 260 Nosler Partition is the bullet, even though Chapman thinks the 300 grain is better.... Do not let the BC of the 260 fool you - it is a point blank aimon out to 150 yards... If you are looking for the 200 yard bullet the sleeker Barnes MIGHT be better - gosh that was hard to say....

Of all the Barnes Bullets I have tried ... the 300 grain Barnes Expanders shot the best. Followed by the Barnes 250 gr Cannelured XPB. The worst were the 285 grain Barnes TMX. I tried them expensive devils with a lot of different powder charges and the best I could get was a 3+ inch group at 100 yards. The same rifle (Knight Disc) with 250 grain Shockwaves will shoot a 2" or better normally. For that reason I decided I would shoot the Shockwaves, strictly due to cost factor.
