Both of them will do you just fine. The thing you might want to consider is the weather conditions where you live. If you hunt in a lot of rain and snow, the closed breech of the Wolf might be a better idea. The Buckhorn is a good rifle, but has an open breech. And the open breech is more then able to meet the hunting challenge. It is just some people do not like an open breech rifle. Be sure and check your hunting regulations to make sure both are legal in your area.

i'd probably go with the wolf. But on the other hand, even tho the buckhorn takes longer to clean, its also simple to take apart and allows you to clean all moving parts.

I've got a Wolf and it preforms just fine. First muzzleloader I've ever owned. I have no experience with a Buckhorn. I can get a great group at 100 yards with it. I'll be trying to harvest my first deer with it this fall. There are more expensive models out there but I bought this one brand new for $100 just to see if muzzleloading is for me. One thing for sure even if I don't like it to deer hunt with and decide to go back to my 1187 I'll keep it just because it's fun to shoot.

I think I'd choose the Wolf. Cleanup should be easier.
