whats up with hornady?

Anybody else having trouble getting hornady 250g xtps? Midsouth is on back order, MidwayUSA is on back order. Stopped by Gander Mountain and they did not have any hornadys 44 or 45 caliber. Whats up with hornady?

A lot of these stores, this is not the season for large sales of hunting supplies (which is what I was told at Wal Mart the other day)so they can get pretty lax. Although I personally think that there is no reason they could not stock a few of each item someone might need. Then again, think of a large on line store and the volume of merchandise they must go through in a month.

Guy told me at gander mountain they don't sell a lot of big caliber hornady pistol rounds. Therefor, they only get a "few" boxes at a time. I told him as much as my muzzleolader likes them....I could take those off his hands a month. He said he would slecial order...you know how that goes.

When they tell me they can "special order", I tell them, yea I can too....

Thank goodness we still have a mom & pop store nearby, he always stocks the .451 250 and .300 XTPs....

Have not had any trouble finding .44 caliberXTP bullets here. i buy the sabots and the .44 caliber 240 grain and 300 grain bullets in bulk.

You know your in trouble when the retailer considers it a special load. Heck, it sounds like more people are using the xtp in their muzzleloaders maybe outside of powerbelt. I would rather support the local retailer vs buying online but a guy has to do what he has to do.

I was told the same thing last week , when I went to pick up some 30-06. NONE in stock. How does that happen?
I told the fella( and he's a nice guy) that folks didn't stop shooting just because it's not hunting season. he told me the decision wasn't his and that he'd try to order some .

I went to Gander Mountian in Flint Mi. and Williams sporting goods Monday(rain day)just to buy some large rifle primers. Fellow at Williams Hit the nail on the head when he said it was the (1. WARand (2. China buying all the scrap metal. Seems the price of metal has sky rocketed as well as what scrap metal is worth, Dealers are trying to order at the lowest price so they can sell at the lower price what they have sold in the past.
Williams fellow said that the whole south east Section of Michigan has had a huge upsurge of copper, lead and other metalthefts. Even had a bunch of man hole covers stolen in Burton and Flint.
