Thompson center grayhawk!
Does anyone know about this rifle let me know what you have heard about them. There are 2 available where I live and are priced at 150.00
They are a .54 cal. #11 cap side lock with what apears to be stainless steel barrel and composite stock but look like a hawken sort of. Any info will be great. Thanks |
RE: Thompson center grayhawk!
A buddie of mine has one same as the new englander ,the 54 cal. is excellent seem he has it also and from what I seen it shoots RB'S excellent
I would say for that price as long as there is no pitts down the bore the price is excelent, also nice light gun for all day deer hunting |
RE: Thompson center grayhawk!
I own a 1993 GreyHawk 50 cal. has 1 in 48 twist and shoots prb's and conicals well if i stay 100gr. and under. Thats plenty of powder fer anything you would ever shoot. Mine brand new set me back $235. It will accept bbl.s from New Englanders.

RE: Thompson center grayhawk!
I have 2 greyhawk myself both in 54 cal.T/C makes a scope base that fits the greyhawk. One screw goes where the rear sight is and the other at the back of the barrel. You will see a screw there .I have a simmons 1X-5x on one and a leupold 2x -7x on the other. Both of mine shoot the 54 cal 348 gr powerbelt and 100 gr of triple 7loose powder exceptionally well.
.If you use triple 7 send to T/C and get the nipples for musket caps that are1/4 x 28 thread. The musket caps are a lot hotter. A local gun shop has one for sale in 50 cal and they are asking $175.00 for it.So $150.00 is a good deal. |
