I just got in a sample pack of 200 grain R.E.A.L bullets for my 45 and im wondering if i should put lube in the grooves? Great looking little bullets, im going to give them a try this evening.

I have always used lube when using real bullets usually tcs brand of bullet lube. Cant remember the name right at the moment, fill the grooves, load and shoot! good luck!!

Crisco will work just fine to get you started.

Yes, smear them with some of your bore butter and have fun. They should shoot well in most rifles. Keep the powder charge low, around 80 gr. Too much powder and they seem to spray all over the place. Of course, your experiences with them might be different.

I use an RCBS mold in my 50 caliber. It puts out a bullet similar to the REAL. I do not lube the bullet. It is the best shooting bullet I have ever shot. Tom.

I'll try some lubed and unlubed. Im going to start at 50 grains T7.


Holy crap was that pure hell to get started in the bore. Going to fire 3 @ 50 yards and see how they go.

well not to bad, 50 yards with 50 grains T7 and the 200 grain real bullet. Measured 1 1/4" groups. Im going to clean the rifle and try the real's with the glued on wads and see how those do. Right now im set to go with the powerbelts this season.

Now thats a lot better! 3 shots with the 200 real bullets and with a felt wad glued to the back. Looks like i can go ahead and buy the mold afterall!

Bore butter has always worked well with the bullets that I mold.
