livbucks....you cannot legally use a single projectile to spring gobbler hunt in PA.

the others gave advice....with shot you will not be shooting a limited amount of times...like all shotguns you gotta pattern it..and like was said...a 50cal is simply a REALLY small gauge for a shotgun. i too want to take a PA gobbler with a flinter...but will not do it with my rifled 50cal.

im waiting till i have the cash to order a custom 75cal smoothbore MADE for the job.

Looks like we are both headed the same direction there Mauser. You just knew before I did.

Eldeguello,
My gun is 50 caliber. What if I used the paper coin roll tubes to make a cartridge? Just exactly how would I do it? Would I seal both ends? Seal the bottom and seat a button on the front open end? Talk to me.

You can make your own paper tubes using sticky notes. Find a 1/2 inch wood dowel to wrap the sticky note around, of course sealing it with the glued edge. Then you tuck the bottom of it up into itself. You could then put your shot in there, and a fiber .50 caliber bore button would act as the over the shot card.

I did this with my .62 caliber smoothbore. Of course I was not spinning that paper wad around.... good luck.

If you can find someone that loads a 28 gauge, ask them for a wad. That might fit down the barrel I am not sure..

Thanks. Not sure I'm going to attempt it. Well, I might. Just once.

You might check some reloading stores and see if they have any shot capsuls for 50 cal pistol.I load them for snakes in my 44 mag but I never looked for 50 cal. Lee
