Will they let you place the dot on the target?
If you mean the range, absolutely. Anything goes.

I bought my dots at Wal Mart and they are made by Birchwood Casey Sheath. After I stick them on the target I like to take some clear package tape and put a piece over the dot. They will sometimes fall off otherwise.
