solving for X.....ballistics tables
 
I notice when I play with ballistics tables (Hornady) something which seems to lack logic. If I enter data for a bullet, say a 300 Barnes with .20 BC, and the only data changed is MV, "sight height" remains the same as does the 100 zero. That would seem to defy logic. Even changing "sight height" has no impact on results. I would expect the program to give me sight height @50 based upon the other information I've provided. Maybe someone can help me with this?

Can not help you with the Hornady calculator, I have not used that one. I bought a program from Barnes a fewyears ago that I use but this works OK if you want to try it...

SL - very helpful. The instructions on your site explain my dilemna. Wrong interpretation of sight height.
