After a day at the range

What do you use to clean your guns after a day at the range and going to put the gun away for awhile. Ive been using T/C #13 bore cleaner, and just bought some #17. After I get my barrel clean I lube it with ballistol. Any other ideas. Thanks

I use a product called BAM to crub out my barrel and all the other parts. Sometimes i hit every with some rem oil after im done but lately i just use the bam and never have any rust. I have an Stainless steel barrel, so if yours or blued steel, make sure you oil it. Rem oil i use in all my traditional rifles. I never liked that milky TC cleaner, always took me forever to get it clean.

Dish soap and water is my favorite. Then if storing for some time I will run a patch down the bore coated with Ox-Yoke wonder lube.

After you're sure the rifle is clean, and quality gun oil applied to all metal parts will protect it. I personally use Birchwood Casey Sheath or now called Barricade. Another good one is Rem Oil with teflon.

I discovered a new product from my wifes cleaning supplies - it is absolutlely awesome stuff.

Zep Citrus Cleaner & Degreaser....

This stuff I put in a bucket of hot water and use a ram rod to pump it up and in the barrel wash the outside with a cloth - dissolves and removes residue. Drop the nipple/breech plug in small container with this solution and walk away come back with a toothbrush and just push the stuff off if there anything is left...

Then follow up with a good lubricant... I use a new product called Slip 2000. Your ballistol is an excellent lube and protectant...

Make sure your barrel bore is dry before applying the lube....

sabotloader, That Citrus soap is the best I have used it for about 8 years or a bit more when the original company went out of business [bought out to reduce compitition] I bought several cases I am glad some one is making it again I only had 3 gallons left. Lee

Dish soap and water as hot as you can get it. Afterwards I'll use a hairdryer to dry everything out especially the small parts, oil and you are done.

Last summer I took my ruger 50 cal with me to the range and shot it some when I got home I was in a hurry to get the rifles clean (8) and I remembered that some were useing windex to swab with found some under the sink with ammonia tried it on the ruger and it worked great and fast.I usually just use soap and water also but will have to try the windex again.I use the rem oil with teflon or any other oil with teflon,I think it helps seal the pores in the barrel and makes it smoother.
In my savage I just use 50 bmg same as I use in my reg rifles.
I also if shooting either a bit through the year, give the barrel a good 50 stroke cleaning with JB bore cleaner about twice a year depending on how much I shoot it.
