I bought a .36 Rem at a gun show it was imported by navy arms but who makes them??

RE: navy arms pistol
I think the two biggest importers are Uberti and Pedersoli. There is also Pietta and Amadi. All from Italy. Theyall make a quality firearm. I have a Mitchell Arms SAA (made and imported from Uberti)in .45 colt and haven't experienced a problem.
http://www.uberti.com/firearms/1860Army.tpl http://www.davide-pedersoli.com/ http://www.pietta.it/index_2.htm I'm not sure if Pedersoli makes a Navy revolver, though, so it may be from Uberti. Couldn't find a site for Amadi, but here is the link for the Navy Arms site where they mention who their vendors are. http://www.navyarms.com/html/about_us.html |

Navy Arms is made by Navy Arms Inc.
Their address is; Navy Arms Company 219 Lawn Street Martinsburg, WV 25401 304-262-9870 |
RE: navy arms pistol
Is it new or an older one?
Navy Arms never made a revolver, just imported them as you stated. Depending on it's age, many of their Revolvers came from Pietta and some from Uberti which cost more. If the manufacturer's name is not on the gun, you can sometimes tell by the proof marks, Uberti is an octogon with a circle in the middle, Pietta looks like this: <FAP>. Not sure but they may have used the now defunct ASM-(Armi San Marco) but I don't think they ever used Pedersoli due to the cost. Enjoy your gun, the .36 is a sweet handling gun and will skip a can all day, you many have to lube the cylinder pin now and then. Doug |
RE: navy arms pistol
After posting I took it apart and cleaned it out, under the loading lever I found the <FAP> stamp it was double stamped over itself and only part of itAP> . The date code is AI (1982). I also bought an 1836 .36 paterson made by Pietta date code BS (2002).
