#11 Caps
Between the new 40% hotter Remington caps or the CCI which ones do you guys like best? Also what about the CCI magnum version? I know most people like the RWS but I would just like to know about these two different brands. Thanks

TheCCI mag is all right, and I have used the RWS for many years they are the best but some times not available. Lee

RE: #11 Caps
My choice between the Remington 40% more likely to not fire and the CCI Magnum??? The CCI Magnum are excellent caps. When I can not get the RWS then I go to the CCI. I had a two tins of Remington's that are 40% hotter around the house, and I had more misfires from those two tins of caps then I did in a whole carton of the CCI standard caps I accidentally purchased thinking they were the magnum. Had they been the magnum, the difference would have been even greater.
If you can not get the RWS 1075 then get the CCI magnum. Remington with all their claims to fame have not sold me on their product out on the range. |

I really like those new Remington Caps. They work well for me. The regular CCI are horrible. I would stay with RWS or Remington. The CCI mags are probably good to.

RE: #11 Caps
I used to purchase Remington Thunderbolt .22 caliber (I think they were called) and had the same problem.Misfire aftermisfire. Although you could try them a second time and they might actually go off. I used them in my revolvers and pistols. After the first brick I went back to Winchester Wildcats and have never changed.
As for their #11 caps. I use them when there is nothing else around. If there is anything else out there, I purchase that. I just bought 20 tins of RWS 1075 and 10 of CCI standard (thinking they were magnum) and those would be my choice. I just get too many misfires with the Remingtons. I have enough caps to last me a long time. Now I do use Remington #10 in my black powder revolvers and they work fine. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact the blast is not being bounced around the bolster and snake, but instead shoved directly to the back of the powder charge. I have no complaints with their #10. (good thing as it is all I have been able to purchase). |
RE: #11 Caps
I used to use the RWS but ran out years ago. Never found them again. I have used CCI mag # 11 since 1989 and NEVER had a dud.
