RE: 10mm bullets
sabotloader,
My AH says Weston, MO whichI thought was MD. I guess I misread it.
It yours a Weston, MO too?
Mine is a is a RH side percussion hammer rifle. Very nicely made and the finish work is nice too. I plan to give that to my new son in law. My son will keep the TC hawken and I willkeep the LH kit w/ the douglas barrel.
Thanks, Hills

Yes, Weston, Mo. - that would be an original A&H, before they were bought out and moved to Provo, Utah... So you have one of the original Mountain Hawken's - nice guns - with a really good Spanish barrel.
Certainly if you are shooting left handed and shooting a side lock it would be better to have a LH sidelock...

Sabotloader,
Dang. That does not look at all like the hammer I have.
Everything else about your gun looks the same. Except
for the synthetic stock. Thank you for taking the time to
send that picture. My gun came with a plastic weather
shroud. It looks about like yours other than it is plastic.
It does help some in keeping blow back off the scope.
I will try and convert back to the #11s and see how I do.
I will let you know.

RE: 10mm bullets
I just bought a bunch of different 10mm bullets along with the MMP 50/40 sabots. I was just kind of wondering, do they perform better from a .50 versus a .45 caliber rifle? It would seem that they would be better from the actual .45 caliber rifle or am I missing something?

I do not have a 45 to shoot them from but I am telling they shoot great from 50's - either -> A&H, Remington's, Omega, and a White. I use 110 grain T7-2f in the A&H and the White - 100 grains in the others...
When you put them in the blue sabot (for a 50) they do not seem to fit properly but when you insert them and slide them down the barrel the slip down inside the sabot as they are suppose to.

Almost every thing I have tried shoots well in my Omega, but nothing else shoots quite as goo d as the 50/40 2oogr Shock Waves at 150 yds and over and the next best at 150 is the 2oogr 40 cal XTP although the 250 gr 45 cal Shock Waves are a close third. Lee

That is awsume shooting... sure can not complian about that group froma ML barrel. Those 200 XTP's are tough little bullets also - they hold together well and are easily good to 150 yards holding right on. It is true the the 200 grain Shockwavw/SST will shoot flatter over the long range but these XTP's are a lot less expensive and work better at short ranges than the SST/SW (just my opinion)
