TC 17 Bore Cleaner
Is there a way to make something similar to TC 17 that doesn't cost as much? I here people talking about windshield wiper fluid and alcohol. If this is what they use how would you mix it?
Thanks in Advance |

First off welcome to the forum.
The 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and car windshield washer fluid will work as a bore swab and help to clean the fowling from the barrel. It will not remove lead, copper, or plastic fowling. It also will not protect the barrel from rust after cleaning. |

Easier than mixing a solution - I use just regular old windex - it does an excellent job. It just plain disolves t7 crud.... |

RE: TC 17 Bore Cleaner
I use "Simple Green" for most of my cleaning - followed by a patch or 2 of alcohol to remove any of the residue. I always use a brush as well.
Don't shoot plastic or copper, but keep some Butch's Bore Shine around for the occasional time I think I might have some leading. I believe it would remove copper and plastic as well. My bores all shine. Steve |
