I am trying very hard to set the ball on top of the front sight... the military way... I use to be a modified holder 1/2 & 1/2 but my eyes are no longer good enough..... my biggest problem is keeping the front blade at the same depth in the rear "v" each time from shot to shot and yet still see the target.... That is my biggest down fall in Trap shooting I want to aim the shot gun instead of pointing the barrel - to many things to concentrate on and i do not do it enough - give me a scope and everything works very easily....

You are doing quite well, Mike. Very good indeed.I think you will find that pointing behind the shoulder of a deer or elk is alot easier than pointing at a 3" dot. If you had a silhouette of a deer, I think you would find that 100% of your shots hit the boiler room out to 120 yards.

Mike is a peep sight legal in(new)Idea ho? If it is you might want to try one, or even one of the v peeps from that place in PA. RMC I think.

Yes, they are - I just looked at the v-peep @ RMC but I did not like how they ajusted... I also check out the different Williams and did not see anything that made my day either...

I am really thinking I will stuck on the TC - I have two here at the house but they are the standard ones - no fiber optics....

You guys seem to all be shooting great!! I for one shot at 100 today and my best group was 4 inches[:@]

I'm still working on it. I'm gonna try wearing glasses[X(]:D[8D]

I got my Omega sighted in with 4 shots. I then shot a 4 inch group with those sight adjustments---at 50 yards. I didn't think it was too bad for the first time with the gun. I haven't touched the sights since.

My gun seems to shoot an average of 4 inches low at 100.

More tinkering tomorrow.....

Wow, that gun likes that combo. Good shooting. I don't guess you've tried shooting without the shot cards have you? Why would you. I wonder how the Chronograph readings would compare with/without the cards. Were the cards you used lubricated?

You know what - you just remeinded me I DO have 3 full size deer targets folded up in a package in the gun cabinet... Might just have to rig me up a stand of some sort and stick it out in a clearcut... Good thought...

Mike and Cayugad - what to you guys use as a hold point?
Bottom of bull, center ?

Steve
I have iron sights on my Green Mountian Barrel. It did not come with fiber optics. So I bury the front sight and hold it round in the bottom of the back sight.

for perhaps a better way to explain my sight picture.... this image might help. I have been trying to get away from the modified hold. Trouble is my rifles are sighted in for that. Still all of that will change.

thats exactly how i aim, only i'd aim right at the bottom of the 5. I used to use the whole sight but that wasnt the right way to do it.

That's about how I try to aim.
