Yep, use the Pyrodex and the CCi or Triple 7 primers. I stand by them.

If I were you I'd bite the bullet (so to speak) and pay for the hazmat. You won't be disappointed...what myself and another forum friend will do this Feb/march is order 6 pounds between the two of us. It will be about 88.00 for my three which includes shipping and hazmat. Get someone to go inwith you for the BM3. You won't regret it.

I'll have a Bass Pro 4 miles from my house...in a few months. They carry Pinnacle. I wish they were open now!

There is very little difference between Pinicale and APP both are made in the same plant I use both and have not had any problems.

Can some of you who have had good accuracy tell me how you load? I started pressing as hard as I could once it hit bottom, and then pressing again - maybe 50 lbs of pressure? Then I'd use the rod's weight but with momentum (by raising it up the barrel and hammering it down)four times.

When I had luck shooting sabots with APP 3f, the only way I got any good accuracy was once I got the sabot moving down the barrel, it was one steady stroke to the powder charge and I did not seat the sabot hard. I bought some APP 3f because I had such good luck with Clean Shot which used to be APP 2f. I am not real pleased with the APP 3f and I do not think I will be getting anymore when this one pound is shot off.

cayugad, that is how I started loading it at first, but I noticed that some times it would go further than others. Maybe I'll try that again.

I'll take a rifle out today and shoot some APP 3f and see what I have to do to make it behave... Then I will have a better memory of the circumstances of my shoot.

Check the dish on the back of the sabots. I found 100 grains of the stuff would not burn completely and thru the bullets all over the place in my rifles. Also swab after each shot and you will be loading a clean barrel each time. Once you get a good load then you can see how many shots you can get before good groups go south.

Cayugad, that would be great! Try some 250grn SST's if you have 'em. Alleyyooper, that sounds like a plan, except the APP faq recommended against cleaning between, so I infact, used a 40 gr charge with some paper stuffed on top to foul the barrel last time.
