making bore butter

I found what someone is calling bore butter and how to make it.
Is this correct or crap... It would make a large batch by the measurements

"Bore Butter" recipe:
1lb beeswax
4lbs oliv oil
2 spoon yellow food pigment
1/2 oz. wintergreen oil for smell

sounds home made but i'd rather just buy a big tub of Crisco and use that on my patches. They never offer enough on the pre-greased patch.

I've got a question.

The NRA 100 yd high power target here http://www.tackdriver.com/targets.htm.

Is it a 100 yard target for iron sighted high powered rifle?

That target is not a Scope target. The military teaches setting the round ball on the the top of the front sight. At a 100 yards the size of the big black ball works just perfect for that option. I would also suggest at a 100 yards the front blade would cover the ball is aimed that way. Or even using a modified hold - trying to pick the center of the ball - best to set the ball on the blade.... You will never see the white rings...

Ifigured that much. 3 MOA is way to generous for 10 points for scope shooters. Even so, it seems pretty generous for iron sight also. With my Sidekick, Icould often get that 3 MOA in a three group. 5-10 shots within 4 MOA.I'm looking forward to seeing how the Apex and Kodiak do at 100 yards. The 100 yard target has a 6" bull which is nice too.

Pumpkin on a post. With a high powered rifle thats probably perfect at 100 yards. Center the group 3" high. But for a muzzleloader projectile moving at 1300 fps will be 4.5" high at 60 if its 3" high at 100 yards. For this reason I like the cross targets which allow me to accurately point to the center of the target, which represents for hunting purposes, the place I want to narrowly miss. The center of a bullseye isn't as easily pointedwith iron sights, ergo, pumpkin on a post which can be pointed withmuchmoreprecision.
