54 caliber Knight Wolverine 1st time out

Bought an old Knight Wolverine a couple of months ago. Took it out today for the first time. Used Knight 300 grain bullets with the RED sabot. Only shot it 11 times. First 7 or 8 shots were good then the groups opened up. I am confidnet this was due to the barrel getting dirty. I was sighting in my scope. Good groups but more work to do to zero in the scope. Used 90 grains of Triple Se7ven Powder and Remington #11 caps. No igniton problems. Swabbed the barrel between each shot with a moist patch. As the barrel grew dirty it was a little more difficut to get the bullet loaded. More aggressive swabbing fixed that problem.

I am very pleased with how this rifle shot and handled!! It seems to like the Knight 300 gr. bullets.

That should be an excellent load. That is the same rifle I have but mine is only a .50 caliber. Nice shooting. It only gets better.
