Sabotloader, I know, I know. Yes it's a sidelock and no,it's not very "traditional". After losing a doe about 10 years ago I had shot with a shotgun, I decided I had to get a scope. I'm not a big gun collector and at the time had 3 shotguns and this muzzleloader. The shotguns are a pair of Model 12 Winchesters in 12 and 20ga and a Browning Citori over/under 20. All 3were considerably more valuable than the CVA and probably shouldn't be tapped for a scope and the CVA was far more accurate open sighted than any of those. So I figured I'd mount the scope there, give up the "traditional" aspect of the sidelock, but also give up the multiple shot advantage of a shotgun. The BP rifle is now the only gun I use for deer.

I think its cool... I shoot several traditionally styled guns most ofthen I am not shooting them traditionally though because I am shooting sabots and T7 powder.... I even took my best TC Hawken - took blued 1/48 twist barrel off and installed a Green Mountain SS 1/28 Long Range Hunter barrel on it... it is really a shooter... no scope though the state says no during ML season...
