PowerBelt advertisment w/Optima
Yesterday there was a brosure for PowerBelts in the box with my CVA Optima. Does CVA own the company that makes PowerBelts? Also the manual for the Optima recomends them. So far I'm all for'em if they shot well through the gun, I can deal without sabots.

RE: PowerBelt advertisment w/Optima
I used the powerbelts out of my OPTIMA this year 245gr hollow points with 100gr T7 pellets the gun shoots them great.I shot a deer with this load and dropped it on the spot but I didn't like the way the bullet blew apart.I went and got some 300gr ShockWave SuperGlides that Iam going to try out. This is just my opinion they did the job but I wasn't impressed no exit wound.

Bake, I used the 295 grain hollow points for 3 years, only one deer with an exit wound. But the blood trail was good, but usually there was no need for one as I saw where the deer was down at from my stand. 6 deer, total of 130 yards ran between them after the shot, 3 piled up.
All had the "jello lungs" when gutted. I was impressed with that, but what worries me is a solid bone hits. |

Sabots are not a big deal, most in-lines are designed for sabot shooting, newer sabots such as Harvester Crushed Rib sabor and the MMP sabot go down much easier and are as accurate as the regular sabot.
