RE: Black powder
You really need to go to a gunshop and handle a variety of different models. I have owned several TC models and they are all very good quality. You need to find the one that feels best to you. Good luck with your search.

RE: Black powder
You should look at a CVA Kodiac Pro Mag. they are really nice!

RE: Black powder
Get the .50 caliber first off. The .52 while I am sure is a fine rifle, you must use Knight's sabots. I would look at the Thompson Center and Knight rifles ... good choice. If your looking for black powder only, then maybe one of the new Omega's would be all you would need for the rest of your life.

RE: Black powder
Can't go wrong with T/c . I have owned a renagade, two black diamonds, and two encores and they all shoot great. I shoot the 50 cal, the most and have killed 5 deer with the encore. I also have two 54 cal. guns and have killed several deer with them.
