Upgrading from a Knight Disc to Disc Elite

Hello,

I saw on knights website and upgrade kit from original disc to disc elite.

Is there any advantages to this? The kit is 125.00 on knight's website, 90.00 at Cabelas. It does not seem worth it to me. I have not had any
problems from the original disc. I just want to hear some opinions.

Thanks.

I'm not sure how much benefit there is. With the new disc the bolt pulls back and pulls the disc off the breechplug. I can see more sense in upgrading the old plungers from #11 and musket cap to the Extreme ignition. I did that with my Hawkeye pistol.

If you've not had any problems then you should probably just keep it as is.

I have an original Disc with the orange primer holder. I have no intention of messing with it. When something works and shoots that good, I leave them alone. I'd rather purchase a brand new Disc Elite or Extreme or LRH or Master Hunter or.. better stop now, getting to excited.

I also have an original disc...I prefer it to the Elite...Primers are easier to load and I don't plan to shoot under water....If its really raining, I put duct tape over the breach, keep my rifle in the case and go to one of our covered stands....

I've shot my Disc in a pouring rain one afternoon. And it never had a problem with going off. I also never took any steps to make it water resistant. Thanks for the duct tape idea.. I will keep that in mind.

I second that on staying with what you have, at least for where I live. We seem to have a huge stock of orange caps and zero red. I might just have to convert mine to orange.I have pretty much decided that I had better stock up on those things. If I do find them one of these days I am going to buy a minimum of $100.00 worth.

From all of the talk about T/C and S&W merging. I am not in marketing, but if Knight happens to have a rabbit up their sleeve, this would probably be a really great time to pull it out!
