I finally came up with 80gr. of Goex ffg with a 370 gr maxi-ball. It gave me 1-3/4 groups at 50 yds. Is this pretty close for a WMC? I keep trying to find a one hole load, but to no avail. Maybe I am asking to much of the rifle. Your opinions are valued.
Try a wonderwad. What you have now may open-up more as you reach-out for a shot at 75 or 100 yards.

Hard for anyone to offer adefinite opinion - since you failed to mention the make& model of ML you have. Conicals shoot differently in each barrel twist.

Dave revealed the rifle for us: TC White Mountain Carbine. I was thinking WMC meant Weapon of Mass Carnage. ;)

Out of a very good shooting conicalrifle (such as a White) you can get
a 3" group at 200 yards. However there is a big drop.
Shooting a 460 conical over 100 grains of T7 with a wad
77 yards 3" high
118 yards dead on
160 yards 6" low
200 yards 20" low

These are all verified numerous times.

RE: Conical accuracy

It is a White Mountain Carbine, but it has the 1:20 barrel on it. I will be trying Buffalo Bullets 385gr and GP 385gr. I am having a hard time finding any other concals locally. Anyone have a favorite site to find them?
