100 grains?
Ok my question is with my muzzle loader, I am shooting 245 grain bullets , and 150 grains of powder (american pioneer sticks). If i went to 100 grains would it still be enough for deer???

RE: 100 grains?
How far would you say it would be pushing it shooting a deer at with 100 grains of powder and 245 grain lead?

RE: 100 grains?
When people wonder about effective range, the real question is how good of a shot are you with the current load. If you can get that rifle to group at 150 yards, there is no reason not to try a shot if you can place it. What I hate to see are those people that "just want to get some lead in them." 100 grains with that powerbelt should work real well for you out to 150 yards, although there are a lot of bad posts about the effectiveness of powerbelts. Some people love them, some hate them.

If i went to 100 grains would it still be enough for deer??? There have been alot of APP sticks complaints on messageboards all over this country. I-N-C-O-N-S-I-S-T-E-N-C-Y galore is the main complaint! If you haven't used them yet & the seal is still on the jug.lid.... return them for loose powder. |
