T/C s new muzzleloader

Well T/C is going to do it to us again-- another new muzzleloader. It is due to come out in 2007 and is called TRIUMPH. There is an article in Petersons Hunting mag. about it and a good picture on the back cover. It looks a little like the omega but has a tip-barrel and an improved, easy out breach plug, ( no tools needed ). It is supposed to sell in the $400 price range. Now I have to drool over another new muzzleloader.

That's an exclusive from Peterson's. There's still no mention of the Triumph on T/C's website or in a Google search I conducted.

It must be, but the picture on the back cover is an ad from T/C.

Admittedly, I know I'm dreaming, but I'd love it if TC introduced a modern style ML with an "older" slower twist barrel. Anything slower than a 1:38 twist would certainly grad my attention...and my open wallet would soon follow.

C'mon TC, introduce a modern style 58 cal with a 1:66 twist or a 54 cal with a 1:48. IMO, any new model in a 1:28 is just a different looking Encore or Omega. Don't get me wrong, I have an Encore and it is a sabot throwin' wizard, but when I'm hitting the thick stuff in southern NY, the 'ol 1:38 Firehawk loaded with a monster conical is in my hands.

Like I said, I know I'm dreaming, but I really think the market is there to support the introduction of a slow twist modern style ML.

If Bergara introduces such a product, I think TC may be surprised how sizable the demand is.

Hunter John, Well I wish they would to; only I wish for a 58 with a 1 in 80-100 twist or a 54 in 166 to 1-80 twist, I like to use a bit more powder than some about 5/8 of the ball weight has worked well for me with these twists. Lee

Lee - Wow, are you saying that you've used 175 grs of powder in a 58 cal load? I came up with this figure using the following: 5/8 * 280 gr (approx weight of 58 cal RB) = 175 grs. If so, that is one hell of a load!![8D]:D

Geez, I never heard of a 1:80 or 1:100 twist. Does anyone today make a ML with that slow of a twist?

I wish that T/C would come out with a smokeless powder muzzleloader to give Savage some competion. A smokeless powder pro hunter would be awesome!
