winchester 777

I don't know about you guys but today I was out sighting in my gun with the new scope on it and was using my winchester 777 primers and had three miss fires. I quit using them and switched to some cci primers my buddy had and no more miss fires. After trying a couple with the cci's I went back and tried another winchester 777 and another miss fire these things are junk anyone else ever have this problem. Just incase you wanted to know 100 gr 777 and 245 powerbelt and wichester 777 primers.

It could be the make of the rifle as well as the primers. There are some rifle primers that sit different in rifles and hence give people problems. Whether this is the case with you I could not say. So far, from all the reports I have read on the Winchester Triple Se7en primers, they have been all good. Do you have another rifle to try these primers in? Also was the hammer/firing pin/what ever striking and denting the primer?

Yes it was putting as big dent in them now it did a couple of times have a delayed fire i dont know what could cause this but you could hear the hammer fall before the charge went off. Like i said when i used the cci's no problem at all but with the winchesters i had problems in 4 out of 5 shots with them.

That gun should be firing whatever primers that you decide to put in it. Do not know about the Wolf but the inlines are prone to having weak mainsprings. Lost some good shots on game because of misfires with my Mag. Hunter. Got to talking with other folks. Three other guys had the same problem with their CVA inlines. They all raised smoke with CVA and got new springs and stuff. I stretched the mainspring and it works OK now but I will never trust that gun again. Other guys have killed deer and hogs with it but I will not use it.
