.25 breech plug conversion
what are your thoughts on the .25 conversion over the 209 primer? I've heard it improves rifle accuracy while reducing the amount of fouling to the breech plug. I am in the process of purchasing a muzzleloader and I was curious about all aspects of a muzzleloader.

RE: .25 breech plug conversion
It does not impress me much, I can not believe it could improve accuracy as far as I am concerned it only gets so good and I suspect I would have to go to a higher power scope and longer range to tell if it made any improvement.
As far as cleaner is concernedthats a expensive improvement to not have to clean around the breach. I suppose if you insisted on 777 and were fighting crudrings it might make some differance. Lee |

It is another contraption I can do without. In my opinion it is a solution to a non-problem.

I purchased one last month and I think I will keep it... absolutlely no blow back - no black on the scope... and it is easier to use and extract the spent shell. Accuracy? - It is still as accurate as it was... The only thing I am not sure of yet is ignition of t7-2f in really cold temperatures. I takes a lot of heat to ignite the t7 in really cold weather. It is expensive by my standards, but then again what isn't. |
