say i just went to shoot my muzzleloader once or 10 times ...
now its time to clean what do you use its a cva optima black/nickel as i said it has a few spots of some sort on it and from now on im going to take good care of it

from start to finish what are the names of the products and what they clean lub, etc thanks

91% alcohol and Ballistol in the bore with large patches and bore brush cleans real well - just Ballistol on a cloth for the exterior rub-down.

When I used toshoot copper bullets, I used Barnes CR-10 to remove copper. For plastic fouling, Brownells Sabot Solvent (CVA) is the best. When the bore is clean, for short-term storage, Ballistol is fine. For long-term storage, Birchwood Casey Sheath (oil)is my first choice.

I would look at the Birchwood Casey line of products. For some serious cleaning get some Birchwood Casey Bore Scrubber, not the the Birchwood Casey Gun Scrubber line. The Bore Scrubber will remove all kinds of fowling. It is best applied with a brass bore brush, then on a few patches after the brushing. After you dry patched the barrel with a few patches, then I like to use Birchwood Casey Sheath. Sheath will protect the bore and all the other metal parts if you wipe the rifle down with it. I like to get it in both the aerosol and liquid drip can.

If you ever have spots that just do not want to come off, some J-B Bore Paste will really clean up the area real well. Then some Sheath and you're good to go.
