Default T777 pellets and 11caps?

I was going to get some T777 pellets for my dad because he's been having trouble with his hands shaking and doesn't want to be spilling powder all over. The pellets would be a great help for him but I noticed on the T777 packaging they are only for 209 primered MLs, and his ML uses #11caps. Will they still work,? Would he need extra hot caps, if they make such a thing?
As it goes now we load the ML for him but it would be nice if he could reload in the field if he needed.

Thanks for your help guys.

He might experience some very poor or inconsistant ignitions shooting pellets with #11 caps. I'd recommend instead getting some speed loaders and make him some pre measured, easy to pour, powder charges. All he needs do is pop the cap on the speed loader and pour that down the muzzle. They even sell little funnels if he wants to carry one along to make sure he does not spill.

Otherwise see if the rifle can be switched over to a 209 primers. What I am worried is, when hunting, especially in a damp environment, he just will get very poor or no ignition at all....

Would the pyrodex pellets be any different or is it just because the charge is compressed.

They just normally do not recommend pellets and #11 caps. Pellets require a larger burst of fire to ignite properly. Although there are people that shoot pellets with #11 caps. If I were going to try a pellet with a #11 cap it would be a pyrodex pellet because there is a small amount of black powder on the end of them which might assist in the igntion. Just make sure you load them the same way they come out of the box.

I do shoot Pyrodex Pellets but always shoot them off with a 209 Winchester W209 primer. Maybe tomorrow I will throw a couple in my Wolverine LK-II which uses #11 caps and see what kind of results I can get out of the rifle..

cayugad,I had to deal with that this year I have a friend that has an Austin Hallack and we could not find a 209 kit for it, he insists on using pellets and no matter what caps we tried it hang fire and miss fired. I cured the problem by giving him some of my priming powder [FFFF Black] ;as soon as he started puting 10gr down first as a primer it worked fine so we just added 10gr to his quick loaders. Lee

I was going to say, perhaps duplexing the load would also work, but that's another step that many do not want to do. It's been raining and damp here, so tomorrow should be a good test to see how well I can set them off in my Wolverine.
