scope on a Blk Dia

Thinking of mounting a Simmons 2 X 7-32mm scope on my Black Diamond,is there any tricks of the trade I need, as far as sighting in: how far ? See through rings or base mounted ? See thru rings if you can. Those nifty fiber optic sights come in handy for the close in shots<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>. I've got the base mounted scope and it can be a pain in the rear regions of the anatomy.
