777 cleaning
I am switching from pyrodex to 777 this year. What is the best way to go about cleaning 777 ?Do you patch between shots?

Water, just water. And you'll have to swab between shots.

hossdaniels - your rifle will tell you more about what you need your rifle to do. Normally with Triple Se7en powders there will be the need to swab between shots. In some cases I have shot four or more shots out of a rifle before I had to swab. Again, all rifles are different and where you live, the projectiles you shootand the elements of weatheryou encounter I believe play a large difference on the amount of crud left in the rifle.
patching between shots can increase the accuracy potential of your rifle. I swab my inline rifles with a mix of 50/50 car windshield washer fluid and isopropyl alcohol. It removes the fowling and also drys quickly out of the barrel with just a couple additional dry patches. In my traditional rifles I swab with pure isopropyl alcohol.... |

Thanks for the tip! I will give it a try, we have a late muzzleloader season up here in ND so I think the 50/50 solution should keep from freezing.
