Scope / Scar
OK, another issue from my newly mounted scope on my BP.
Directly above the primer location on the tube of the scope I see a pretty nasty scar / burn from the primmer smoke/heat. Is their anything I can do th prevent this from getting worse? I have probably only shot 10-12 shots since the scope was mounted and it looks nasty. I want to protect it so it lasts, any suggestions? |

RE: Scope / Scar
Thanks Kevin1.
I didn't even think about this until after shooting the other day and noticing the spot on the scope. I will pick up some leather and fashion an outfit for it. |
RE: Scope / Scar
Electrical tape works fine if you remember to change it out once in a while.

Try and clean that residue off, use hot water and tooth brush then hit it with some light gun oil.
Mine are made out of a neoprene glove I had lost the match too, just cut it to fit, put 2 slits for scope caps( making adjustments) and zip tie on. |
RE: Scope / Scar
I use electrical tape and then you can wipe it off after each shooting session.
I finally broke down and bought a Butler Creek scope protector.. what a piece of junk. It was on sale and would have costed me more to send it back to them then I paid for it. First time I tried tp put it on the scope, the strap tore. Not only that, it must have been made for a very small scope as it hardly reaches around some of mine... |
RE: Scope / Scar
I use clear duck tape on mine.
