what I shoot

My muzzleloader is one of what they call tradational. Does anyone still use this type of muzzleloader? I shoot the round lead balls with 90 grains of pyrodex. It seems like everyone shoots the new both inlines.

On the contrary, there are a lot of traditional shooter out there and many of them on this board. What I think you see more of is traditional shooters who have also wandered and are shooting inline rifles as well. It never decreases their love of the traditional rifle. I still use a traditional rifle during season, as well as a inline rifle on certain days.

I got interested in the sport I guess you could say due to inlines and my first is an Omega, however it has piqued my interest in traditional and I am saving up for a really nice flinter.

Looks like I will end up spending about twice as much for the one I want as I did for the inline that got me into this sport.

I pretty new to muzzleloading. I've got both a percussion sidelock and an inline. Traditional equipment lets one see through the hype some inline manufacturers boast. Ya' still gotta clean 'em.;) Biggest difference I can see is that you can remove the breech plug on one and you shouldn't on the other. They're both fun...

i shoot both inline and traditional. I favor the traditional muzzleloaders over the inline. My favorite is my traditions kentucky classic .50 flintlock, 110 grains fffg goex and patched round ball. Took a nice 4x4 mule deer this season at 40 yards. I like to hunt for 3 to 4days with my flintlock, and if im not able to get into range, i'll usually switch out for my inline. I only took my inline a couple times due to the area i was hunting was wide open with not much cover. Inlines are still fun but they dont give you that feeling when the pan of a flintlock goes off and you see the deer drop. Best feeling in the world... Well one of the best feelings.... ..

T/C Hawkens 50 cal.

490 Round Ball
50 grains FFFG for Target
90 grains FFFG for Hunting.

I started with Pyrodex P. Shot about 3/4 pd. then found some Goes FFFG and found it so superior I will never shoot anything ealse.

Inlines, but I respect other folks' choices so long as they respect mine.

I have one of each. Like others, I like the tradional better. Why? No clue just do.
